Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine was a Philadelphia native was born and raised there. Pam the mother of Jazmine is an ex-backing singer for Philadelphia International Records. At the age of five Her father was named as City's Historic Strawberry Mansion curator. She and her family moved later into this historic building. The year 2005 marks her Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts graduated She is an instructor in singing. Sullivan began singing in the children's choir as a contralto later she joined the adult choir just a few years afterwards. His exposure to secular music was at first limited "I had solos singing in churches and a person wanted me to go on the gospel label at age was eleven but I wasn't prepared to sign that contract," she recalls. "Then McDonald's offered a competition for kids from cities. The contest gave me an opportunity to perform What God Allows on It's Showtime Apollo. My audience was very welcoming." Stevie Wonder sang her part at his 13th birthday. Sullivan was the first to sign her contract to Jive Records when she was fifteen. Sullivan was initially signed by Jive Records when she was fifteen. The singer-songwriter produced an entire album. The album never saw release. Sullivan was then dropped by the label. Missy Elliott was the producer on a couple of tracks from the album she released as her first. One of them was "Backstabbers" which is a buzz song produced by Timbaland and written by Elliott.
